Social Media Brings Rapid Results – Both Positive & Sometimes Negative

Small businesses are often thought of as just extensions of social media – the owners of the businesses just seem to post pics and blogs about their product and within weeks we are to believe that they can become multi million pound earning influencers.  For some this has in fact been very true, though whether it was exactly overnight success is hard to quantify.  There is anecdiotal evidence however that with the right approach, decent speaking and image taking skills, it is possible to kick start a new business quickly.  Keeping that momentum up is of course another matter.   It is said that the use of socials will assist in the widening of the top of the sales funnel and allows businesses to reach a wider audience – maybe a different demographic and they will also spread the word.

Good reputations arise from reliable service, prompt action, not only in the handling of orders but dealing with queries and even the odd complaint.  The earlier negativity is nipped in the bud and the problem addressed and solved, the better the business name will become.  It is impossible to go through life without the odd wobble and as good as social media is for building up a name and getting the product and business known, it is also critically fast when bad news is sweeping along.  This must be borne in mind and so often is not.  Celebritiy influencers and entrepreneurs only see the product sales in their eyes and very often forget to look out for the banana skins that can lurk under foot.
